Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade is the chair of the board of directors for CAOA. The largest distributor of automobile and manufacturer in Latin America. He founded this company in 1979 after the owners of the then dealers of Campina Grande became broke.
They were to deliver the Ford Landau to the then doctor, but on failure, he took ownership of the company and named it CAOA .he, therefore, became an entrepreneur and had to manage the firm. In less than six years, the company had grown to become the largest dealer of Ford in entire Brazil.
Dealing in Renault vehicles
When the market in Brazil allowed the import of cars in 1992, Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade gladly joined the movement and was the official importer of French franchise Renault in Brazil. The company made several sales before his partnership with the French dealers.
Subaru and Hyundai in Brazil
After the closure of the partnership with the French automaker, he decided to venture in Japanese Subaru from 1998. The sale of Subaru tripled in that year though there was another dealer in the products. Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade outshone him.
Though there were other dealers in the South Korean Hyundai cars, they proved unsuccessful. CAOA took over the dealership in 1999 under the leadership of Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade; the brand now became leading in the market especially the sale of Hyundai Tucson model.
The automobile assembly in Brazil
In 2007, the company launched the assembly company for the automobiles and named it CAOA Automobile Assembly S/A. It is the first Hyundai factory in the country. The factory is located in Annapolis, Gaia’s Brazil.
The plant building was Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade’s dream since he started the entrepreneur venture. It cost him $600 million but earned him the “entrepreneur of the year in industry” title award by IstoE Dinheiro a renowned Magazine.
Accomplishments and awards
The company has been awarded in regards to its performance. It got an award from IstoE Dinheiro as a good doer company for the waste reuse program at CAOA and taking part in reforestation of the Midwest of Brazil. He was also named as the distributor of the year in 2012; his company was ranked as the first one in sales and after sales among other awards.
