Nicolas Krafft, Promoting Business Ethics at L’Oreal by Example

Nicolas Krafft is a well-known business executive, who believes in integrity and high ethical standards in all business operations. Currently, he is the Vice President of Global Business Development at L’Oreal, a leading global developer of cutting-edge beauty and cosmetic products and services.

Nicolas Krafft is a widely experienced and knowledgeable business leader. He joined L’Oreal in 2002 as Marketing Director, Kerastase. In August 2004, he was appointed as the company’s Marketing Director in Asia, a position he held until 2008. In 2009, he served as General Manager before being appointed as the Deputy General Manager for Europe. In all the years he worked in various capacities, Nicolas has always remained focused on L’Oreal’s commitment to the principles of transparency, respect, integrity, and courage.

To keep its commitment on track, the company has come up with the Ethics Day, an annual event which brings together all its workers from around the world. The event is a key moment for all employees to review their commitment to the company’s principles and togetherness.

During the 10th anniversary edition of L’Oreal’s Ethics Day, which was held in 2018, an excess of 60% of the company’s employees from more than 70 countries across the world participated. The primary goal of the event was to encourage innovation and teamwork amongst the employees and the larger community.

Through discussions, questions, and live webchat, the workers are encouraged to air their opinions, contributions, and concerns to the Chief Executive Officer and respective country managers. The day is set aside for open discussions, which are instrumental in promoting ethics among the employees.

Following L’Oreal’s steadfast commitment to its Human Rights Policy, the Ethisphere Institute recognized the company for the 9th time. The institute recognized L’Oreal as one of the most ethical companies in the world. Additionally, the UN has recognized L’Oreal as a Compact Lead Company.
