DACA Renewal Applications Late and Rejected but Who is to Blame

DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) was a vital part of the lives of more 700 000 people who had immigrated to the United States and would face deportation if DACA did not have their back. Read more: Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund

That is why nearly one million people could live, work, and study in the United States. DACA was the only thing that allowed that to happen.

Last year the presidency changed, and the beliefs of the new president did not acknowledge the importance of DACA is the lives if almost one million youths. Instead in his pursuit to ”purge” the country, as he put it, Trump assembled a ministry that will achieve his goals. In September Trump’s people announced that they would be closing down DACA for good.

They described that it would be graceful of them to allow DACA youth to send in their renewal applications one last time before they are forced to leave the country.

Even though the deadline for the renewal applications was October 5, thousands of DACA recipients hurried to send in their applications. According to a report, however, none of the applications were accepted for no other reason than their late arrival. Allegedly, the post offices all around the country delivered the applications way too late, but at the same time, no other mail was as severely late as the DACA applications.

In the state of New York, there were 34 DACA applications for renewal that are known to have experienced a severe delay as they were en-route for the Chicago area and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services processing center there. The information was made available by the lawyers of the DACA recipients.

In Chicago, the representative Luis Gutierrez stated that he knows about 21 DACA renewal documents that have been rejected because of late delivery even though they had been mailed locally from around Chicago at the start of Septemeber.

Jim Larkin is also outraged by what is happening and is stating that he will be protecting the 21 people that have stepped into his office as the government is taking their lives away from them.

A few days later, David Partenheimer from the USPS stated that there had been a processing delay in Chicago, but that did not satisfy those who are sensing some other influence at work. Lawyers and civilians believe that the government has arranged the delays.

Only One thing was said from White House, and that is for DACA people to organize their departure s soon as possible.
